Bass – Sam Tilders

Sam Tilders - Bass A regular attendee at the Melbourne Blues Appreciation Society, Sam can usually be found either up on stage with his bass during a jam, or behind the lens of his camera as he chronicles the vibrant Melbourne Blues scene through his photographic venture Jovian Projects.

Sam’s music listening follows other Melbourne and wider Australian Blues musicians such as Greg Dodd and the Hoodoo Men, Fiona Boyes, Kelly Auty, Phil Manning, Lloyd Spiegel, Jimi Hocking, Dutch Tilders, Geoff Achison, Lazy Eye, Dreamboogie, Paulie Bignell, The Detonators, Jules Boult, and many others. Influences also extend to well known international greats, Buddy Guy, B.B. King, Albert King, Freddie King, Brownie McGhee, Billy Holiday, Ella Fitzgerald, Eric Clapton, Peter Green and of course many more. Not just the singers and guitarists, but also the amazing bass players they had working with them which he is constantly learning more about, Jack Bruce, Donald “Duck” Dunn, Jerry Jemmott, and others.
